Skilled operators know how to maximize the performance of a machine and — even more importantly — use it safely. Effective construction operator training is essential for ensuring the members of your team know how to handle and maneuver equipment in a safe and productive manner.

As an authorized Cat^® equipment dealer, Gregory Poole can provide comprehensive construction operator training for our eastern North Carolina client base. Training sessions are conducted by experienced Certified Dealer Instructors who have a sound understanding of the skills required to operate Cat construction machines productively and safely. Your team will also learn to apply valuable techniques for running machines to increase fuel efficiency and minimize wear and tear.

Training Service Tailored to New and Experienced Cat Construction Equipment Operators

Gregory Poole offers various training services to meet specific customer needs. This includes Cat machine instruction for new operators to help them become familiar with the various machine features and how to use them effectively and safely on the jobsite. Your veteran operators can receive training to refine their skills and operating techniques. New construction technician training is also available so your novice service technicians can learn the fundamentals of Cat equipment operation. Our three levels of training include:

Level 1 – Basic operator training for novice operator / technician
Level 2 – Refinement & enhancement of experienced operator skills. Instruction on safety, maintenance, inspections, control familiarization & operating techniques. Focus on equipment operation (stick time)
Level 3 – Evaluation of operator knowledge and skills against defined competency standards. Certification, not training.

Machine Operator Training – Machine operator training is broken down into a familiarization module that is model specific and three operator progression levels. These progression courses begin with teaching basic operating techniques for entry level operators and later work on sharpening the skills of the more advanced machine operators.
Basic Machine Safety and Familiarization- The focus of this course is to educate and familiarize experienced operators with regards to a specific machine model. It will provide knowledge and understanding of the machines’ systems and controls. This training is usually associated with the introduction and/or purchase of a new machine model.
